SERVICE GUIDE
Hey friend! I’m so glad you’re here. Whether your garden’s begging for a glow-up or you’re starting from scratch, this guide covers how I work, what you can expect, and how we’ll keep things blooming beautifully from start to finish.
How We Work – Plant Magic, No Power Tools
I design, install, and rehabilitate perennial flower gardens—think lush, low-maintenance blooms that look great and love living here.
What we do:
Transform and revive garden spaces with thoughtful design and gentle, expert care.
Specialize in perennial plantings, pollinator-friendly spaces, and organic gardening practices.
Install new gardens including ornamental gardens, native butterfly gardens, commercial spaces, edible gardens, turning lawn into gardens, rain gardens
Sourcing plants, specialists and materials
What we don’t do:
Lawn care or mowing
Tree care
Hedge trimming or anything requiring power tools
Harsh chemicals
Hardscaping (pavers, concrete, interlock)
However, I can recommend someone, just not my jam.
Garden Design & Project Management
I’m your personal garden project manager—like a garden fairy godmother with a tablet and a budget.
Here’s what that means:
I plan your garden, source the best plants and materials, and assemble a team of skilled folks to bring the vision to life. I’m on-site managing the process, making sure every detail aligns with our plan and your style.
You? Get to relax and enjoy the transformation.
Design Plans – The Blueprint for Beauty
Before we start digging, we need a design plan so we are all on the same page.
A design plan is basically the blueprint for your dream garden—it’s how we take all your ideas and Pinterest boards and turn them into an actual, plant-filled reality. It includes rendered images of your future garden that serves as a map for where everything goes. You’ll also get a detailed DIY to-do list, broken down into manageable phases so you can implement it over time—or, you know, hire us to knock it out in a few days.
The plan includes a plant list curated for your space—based on light, soil, hardiness zone and your needs—with notes on maintenance. Whether you want to dig in yourself or hand it over, this plan sets us up to grow something intentional, stunning, and tailored to you.
Rates & Estimates
Each space has its own unique personality and needs and for that reason, each garden design plan is priced individually.
However, to give you an idea, most suburban garden design plans fall into the $200 - $500 range.
Every garden’s a snowflake—no two installation projects are the same. Some are billed hourly, others by flat rate.
Here’s a peek at pricing for some of our recent installation and rehabilitation work:
Large gardens front and back (design, plant sourcing, install): $6000
Large garden rehab (6 hrs): $160/hr
Medium spring rehab (3 - 5 hrs): $110/hr
Small garden rehab (3 hrs): $110/hr
Note: All quotes are estimates. Final pricing depends on the nitty-gritty—like root situations, soil drama, and unexpected surprises.
Payment Terms
Payment is due when you receive your invoice.
A deposit may be required upfront for materials.
We accept e-transfer, cash, and cool rocks (just kidding—please pay your bill immediately).
Communication
Your garden should reflect your style, your dreams, your cottage core sun dress aesthetic.
Please share your preferences up front (native plants? peony obsession? low-maintenance all the way?)
I’m all ears—questions, inspo pics, or last-minute changes? Hit me up!
Weeding & Mulch – The Reality Check
Let’s get real: weeds are annoying and constant.
We remove weeds thoroughly during installs, but some regrowth is natural and expected.
We use at least 4” of cedar mulch to help suppress weeds - it smells amazing, help retain moisture and looks sharp, but nothing is 100% weed-proof. Maintaining a healthy natural mulch layer year over year is your best bet against weeds.
Do you have thousands of small rocks in your garden? Like a mulch but made of river rocks and landscaping fabric? I’m so sorry. You better sit down. Prepare yourself to be pulling weeds forever. That landscape fabric is not helping anything, debris and seeds fall on top and just grow right on top of it, not to mention the microplastics 🫣 let’s talk about options when we meet.
Edging – Define Your Garden’s Personality
Edges make gardens pop—but there’s a little give and take.
It prevents grass from creeping in but may slightly expand your bed.
Some lawn and soil loss is expected.
Choose your edge style:
✂️ Crisp & Clean
🌿 Natural & Blended
Let me know how far out you’d like the edge to extend—we’ll make it cute.
Note that there will be some wear on the lawn near the gardens edge due to our worker’s foot traffic, this will not be permanent and will self heal quickly.
Waste Management
I seriously do love pulling weeds out of your garden —but I don’t haul it away. Here’s the plan:
We:
Clean up and place everything neatly in the provided receptacles
Leave the bags/bins in the driveway or your indicated location
You provide:
A yard waste bin or bags for green waste
A waste/recycling bin for mulch bags, soil bags, etc.
If you’re in Gatineau:
The city only does green waste pickups once in spring and once in fall (check their schedule!).
Outside those dates, you’ll need to arrange disposal yourself if we surpass your bin, which we probably will.
I do not remove waste, so prep your bins or plan a trip to the ecocentre if needed.
Waste bags and bins can be very heavy, watch your back. 🙏
Breaks – We’re Only Human
We hustle, but we hydrate. Expect short breaks and a 15 minute lunch break. Sunscreen, snacks, and stretches keep us going strong!
That’s the Tea.
If this sounds like the kind of garden glow-up you’ve been dreaming of, I’d love to work with you. Whether you’ve got a wild yard with potential or a blank slate waiting for blooms, I’m here to guide the process, keep it stress-free, and make sure your outdoor space feels like you.
Let’s start with a quick consultation to see your space, discuss your needs and wants, and how we can bring it to life.
